Sacristans prepare the church and sacristy for the celebration of Mass — setting out the sacred vessels, vestments, linens, and books, lighting the candles, and caring for the items used in worship. It is a quiet, behind-the-scenes ministry of great love for the liturgy and the things set apart for God. Careful, dependable parishioners are invited to serve.
